I thought it was funny (I do like David Haig) but it's been ripped to shreds in today's Guardian and Telegraph.

I liked it. Some of it was recycled from Ben Elton's stand up but it is still funny. Especially the bit about the dishwasher. I go through the same routine every few days.

While looking for the lead actor's name i discovered that the entire "Talking heads" series is on youtube. Hurrah!

The 'ripping to shreds' is twofold

- Old format sitcom / canned laughter , non female lead, well worn 'Daily Mail' worlds gone mad take on H&S.................its stands out head and shoulders above new BBC 3 series like the recent one set in Iraq, as being backward looking and in truth, quite unfunny and non challenging

The current trend is for female lead (Miranda, Heading Out....) or challenging subject matter (Bluestone 42, Derek...)

Only an opinion, but my licence fee would be better spent NOT making The Wright Way or Citezen Khan...........dire

I am not sure that I follow. Are you saying that Alan Bennet appeases Rupert Murdoch?
