Editorial: No such thing as ‘historic’ rape

There no reason - legal or moral - for such crimes to “expire”, particularly given the trauma that often results..

...the horror over Savile is turning to talk of witch-hunts and “things being different then”..

... Not only is there no reason - legal or moral - for such crimes to “expire”..

..The times might indeed have been more “permissive” - for which read misogynist. But while that may explain why such behaviour went unchecked, it can neither excuse nor render it less criminal.

case rested re : Sexual Offences Act 2003 and child porn in The Sun which no doubt contributed to an atmosphere of “things being different then”..
