"I met Savile for an hour. I could claim £27,000"

Indeed there should be a statutory requirement for each alleged victim's case to be investigated.

If one is found not to be true, then it's a criminal fraud and a very serious fraud. Compensation from the government, law suits against the BBC and Savile's estate...this is a criminal conspiracy to defraud charities, the taxpayer and Savile's genuine heirs.

The chances are even if some claims are real, there will be false claims as well.

I cannot see how the police and the ghastly NSPCC blithely accept claims without investigation when there are millions of pounds at stake and it's our bloody money.

Under what other criteria would this happen ?..someone dreadfully injured in a car accident can be put through the wringer when claiming insurance.

It's a disgrace of national proportions !!
