putting the boot into Bono 12 Years, 2 Months ago
it will draw criticism but I like this piece and Bono isn't to disimilar to Geldorf
are they doing far more damage than good ?. I've never really liked Bono particularly with his meetings with wackos like George Bush Jnr. ...giviNG them 'credibilty'..much like Hitchens did.

Met him last year at the Sydney opera House..turning on the lights or getting the Key to The City from the mayor or something (they never gave Michael Jackson the Key to the City and he asked for it..why not??)

funny little bugger..barely came up to my knees.

Let me not disappoint and say say that Bono and Geldof are both in the Top 10 of music stars have done good for the world. When individuals rise to such heights there are always jealous peoples who want to knock them down. Neither Bono or Geldof are perfect but just because someone writes a piece concentrating on their flaws doesn't take away all the great things they have achieved.

You can't quantify awareness but ask any campaigner or charity organizer and they will tell you that if you get the awareness high the money and action will follow. Bono and Geldof have spent decades bringing awareness to good causes and long may they continue.

jealousy ? : must intellectual discussion be reduced to X-Factor levels ?.

donation fatigue today means one charity invariably misses out when another gains..as the article points out Bono's charity gave a tiny fraction away...the vast bulk went on salaries. that's a business not a charity.

who are the other 8?
