Another example of Politics I'm afraid.

Say anything to get elected, carry out your own agenda, not the agenda you publish in a manifesto, deny all knowledge while you are in office of carrying out anything untoward......then years later when your personal agenda changes (no longer in politics, no longer of the same opion, no longer brown nosing a boss to increase your own career), you admit what you have done and expose the truth of the perviously denied plan...............

I would caveat this with 'not all Politicians are the same', but I think as someone who makes snap judgements on peoples personalities (fist impressions and all that...) it confirms what a weasily, weak, but at one time overtly powerfull, person Mr Mandleson was ....a kind of personality trait of a sociapath (is that the right name?) as someone who manipulates, believes lies they tell are the truth at he time the say them but clearly are just out for themselves and have zero empathy or emotional grasp of dealing with 'real people and issues'

....which is a worry as he kept getting elected, but I guess it was that area of the world where a spotty toad in a red rosette would generate votes.

I see their top spokesman who oozes smugness was Mandleson's top aide for years, Always demanding more controls and paid a small fortune from this "charity" to pontificate about child "safety"..another self appointed expert with nil qualifications.

In one stroke he unites his enemies (the conspiracy theorists like David Icke & Chris Spivey), the hand-wringing hypocrites, the media and the police - and deals a dangerous blow to the Rule Of Law, free-thinkers, free speech, real intellectuals and 'normal' time-honed courtship rituals.
In my opinion this will run deeper than McCarthyism and effectively is a grave threat to the future of the species. The 'groundwork' has already been achieved by the New Labour policies on secondary school education which have already gifted them a generation of 20-somethings who won't cross an empty road unless the 'green man' tells them they can.
