Spot on Hedda and, as many of us have said for years, this is why and where things will change. Morality will take a back seat; practical budget concerns will move in.

Do we really want these media friendly (not for much longer, I suspect, as Editors realise readers are bored) investigations to take up hours of police and court time and loads of money, diverting it from far more important areas?

I see that Rolf Harris got FOUR standing ovations during his first show since his arrest.

It is going to get far far worse before it ever gets better.
After much thought I have concluded that for the good of my own health I need to have as little contact with news and "current affairs" as possible and keep away from imbeciles, work towards moving abroad (and it is startling just how many ordinary people want to do that, having grown alarmed by the decline of the UK citizen into an army of fools) and surround myself with people of a similar mindset.
Forget Muslim extremists and dead soldiers - the British have been undermined from within and it is irreversible.

and I spoke to the agent who flogged the complainants story who says he couldn't care less as he got his percentage...but he says the UK cops are ropeable as they have been made to look like fools.

I think Rolf has been told he is in the clear.
