Same here.

Hundreds of children have been slaughtered 'in the name of peace' by the US and Allies - yes us - in Iraq, Afghanistan and soon to be Syria. Who's crying for them and asking for justice?

I can never make mind up about Galloway. He's certainly a fluent speaker...he's opinionated and apparently passionate about what he says.
But I don't know if shouty passion is enough? Maybe he doesn't want to win friends and influence like a smarmy career MP, but I find that I can't always follow his arguments when he bulldozes interviewers and speaks in his holier than thou demeanour.....

I'm with you on George, Mr Reason; some bits I really like and admire, others I don't.

MrReason speaks wisely. Galloway is a Stalinist. The only reason you're not obeying his orders is that he doesn't have a red army.

Much as I agree with him, I'd rather remain free nevertheless.

And the bulldozing is an early warning sign. These guys like logic when they can prevail by it. But they refuse to be governed by it.

But do they give you what you want, or what is good for you? I'd rather live in a UK with News International, than under a slogan-bound dictatorship that broaches no dissent.

I agree. But you are making a small category error.

News International, though a private tyranny to its workers who have no say in how it is run, is a corporation operating within the UK whose viewers and readers are free to choose it or not.

The UK, on the other hand, is a state whose subjects, though constrained to obey the laws, retain a limited freedom to debate and influence those laws.

If you would prefer to live in a state without this freedom, then simply sit down, shut up and do what you're told.
