A Delicate Truth - John Le Carre's best ever? 12 Years, 1 Month ago
I think he's our greatest living writer, so this is some statement; but it really is absolutely terrific.
All the mystery and intrigue of his early work yet somehow far more convincing and frightening; he's learned so much more and is so up to date.
A total gem of a novel; buy it today, read it tonight.

Just had a lovely E mail from JLC saying how delighted he was I loved the book. I replied saying it's actually quite amazing he wrote his best work in his 80s - most of us go off as we age!
If you've ever enjoyed a Le Carre, do please buy it and read it; it is SO appropriate for the current era of government and establishment intrigue and dishonesty.

Having read your review, I bought the book for my "holiday reading". I totally agree with everything you say. If you only read one book this summer, make it this one. (Airports have a special traveller's paperback edition. Ideal when you're flying hand-luggage only!).
