As much as anyone can find such comments distasteful I find it hard to believe that the police, the courts and the CPS are to all extent and purpose criminalising citizens for publishing their thoughts online, however callous or silly they maybe.

No; this is Britain in the 21st Century and a good thing too. Clamp down on free speech, lock up as many people as possible, run the economy into a brick wall, try to destroy the BBC, make the needy starve to death... is this a society we can be proud of?
