I loathed the old Asad and hated Syria - my one experience in Damascus as a 17 year old going around the world was seeing a public hanging. As a result I left the country after one night. But I simply hate the "Arab Spring". I thought it was a mistake to encourage rebels against the various governments. It was no concern of ours. We (and the US) should allow them to sort out their regimes themselves, preferably without violence.

However, I love the Arabs - the culture and the people.

After Morocco my favourite North African state is Tunisia. Their revolution was relatively bloodless although started by a suicide. I watch their evolution with great interest and will visit it again this summer. I strongly urge anyone genuinely interested to read my diary from last year available via Amazon - Three Months.

But, although I hate the bloodshed in Syria, I strongly believe we should NOT get involved, either by invasion (as Libya) or by supplying arms to either side.

We should deluge those suffering with aid, food, medicine, and help of every kind but NOT with weapons of death.

Agreed - and I only hope Morocco and Jordan, being Monarchies (there are big advantages to monarchies - the people expect Kings and Queens to own palaces and be rich; not Prime Ministers or Presidents) survive this Arab Spring (inspired and created by Satan's social networks).

I shall report from Tunisia in due course; pray it is OK and that other countries, like Syria, see this better way of peaceful, bloodless change.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I certainly never grasp what this guy is on about, although I recognise that familiar conspiracy theorist tenor. Personally, I can't understand why anything which has made it online did. God only knows how bizarre the stuff that didn't make it was...
