Irish singer and actress Bernie Nolan has died aged 52 after a long battle with cancer, her publicist confirmed.

The former lead vocalist of The Nolans was diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago, which spread to her lymph nodes.

She said she was cancer-free in October 2010 but the disease returned two years later and was incurable.
