Why do I dislike hot weather so much these days? I've lived in places where this kind of weather (and far hotter) is normal..... South of France, Hungary......

The South of France (Aix-en-Provence) was a glorious 2 years of my life. Very hot in the summer, but cool in the mornings and evenings.

As for the 8 years I spent in Hungary, the one thing I don't miss is the infernal summer. It was way, way too hot. Going to work in a suit in 40 degrees, with a triple glazed, south-facing office that had no air conditioning was very bad indeed. I had clients complain and all I could offer them was a water cooler.

heat & the UK were never a good mix for me unless one fled abroad.

but summers in Oz are becoming increasingly humid which I don't like...from memory on visits as a child it was always very dry heat which I love.

global warming...it is happening.

The only thing I dislike about this weather is the fact that some men see fit to walk around the streets topless. NO!! It just lowers the tone of any area even if they are built like a Greek Adonis

I'd quite enjoy both men and women to walk around naked Foz but we may be coming from different starting points!

I'm mostly with Jk on that - Clothes can be a bit overrated but I also like to see people well dressed.
A lot of mankind's troubles can be solved once we get over our hangups about nakedness and age.

As for the weather ... it's way too hot for me.

My friends keep saying "it's alright for you, you're used to it, you've spent two months in this temperature".

The answer is, of course, I don't. All the hotels and restaurants I'm in have air conditioning and I swim 5 hours a day in the summer abroad.

the same in Asia where I travel all the time..every hotel, cafe, restaurant, taxi and cardboard box is air conditioned yet in Australia taxi drivers give you a filthy look if you ask them to turn the air-con up.

It's why I have to drive my Jag all over the city and add to pollution.
