One of my greatest influences/heroes in record production was Mike Stone, who came through Trident.
Mike worked with Roy Thomas Baker on the Queen records. After that there was a time in the early 80's when his work owned the Billboard charts. His building to a huge chorus was a blueprint, I'm sure learned from and with Roy Baker.

I only got to talk to him once at Criteria when he was making a Foreigner album years later.

Unfortunately he died young at 52, and I never got to pick his brain after I really started making records.

Did you know him JK?

and Thanks for the link.

Yes; knew him slightly; admired him greatly.
I've been lucky enough to meet most of our great producers, from Jerry Wexler to Goddard Lieberson and Bob Crewe to Joe Meek.
And, of course, the mighty Phil.
