TOPIC: The Voice - I was wrong.

The Voice - I was wrong. 11 Years, 2 Months ago
I thought Sally would win. Was she good? I ended up going to the Opera instead of watching TV - and saw Russians and a huge orchestra at the Coliseum. I'm afraid I generally can't be bothered with talent contests. Gone off the entire genre, although I've enjoyed The Voice because of the Judges. And nothing else on Saturdays (until BBC4 at 9pm).

She was good. Like you, I thought she'd win, but Jermaine ticked all the right boxes in terms of a record deal so it wasn't too much of a surprise when he got it. Nice young man, I hope he does well. But I thought Will.i.am blew it when asked for an immediate response - his protege had just won a big recording deal, in a prime time music contest, and he didn't mention a musical career once, and waffled instead about the need to work hard to become Prime Minister or a community leader. It inadvertently summed up how superficial the music biz seems these days.

And what a bloody farce as the winner sang his winning number. Cut off before it even began to get started. You wouldn't see that happen on X factor.

Seems to be a BBC habit.

Every year the winner of Eurovision is silenced on our screens before they have finished performing the winning song. Pathetic.

Jermaine seems like a nice young man with a good voice and I'd be quite happy with a black Prime Minister (I always predicted Will Smith would be the first black President - wrong again). It all depends on his producer (he could do worse than Will). I really don't care what skin colour the winner has, or a Prime Minister has (or, come to that, who's in bed with me) as long as they are good and nice and decent and gorgeous.

Yes, yes, neither could I, but that was a SINGING competition. His supposed mentor managed to waffle on about anything but music, thus not only diminishing his triumph a little but also ensuring on a live show that he
used up most of the time left for the poor sod to actually SING! I like Will.i.am but he was an absolute tit at the end of that final.

And the start and middle. He was not at his best.
