on BBC4 tonight (7.30pm) - not seen it for about 20 years but remember it as being rather "fresh" and hadn't dated quite like some of those other pop movies. Dick Lester did a brilliant job directing.
Watched it and loved it. My God those songs were/still are great. Apart from knowing many people in the movie (see the Your Views thread) and recognising almost every filming venue, it was great spotting certain trademark John Lennon gestures (he sings with his lips often automatically covering his teeth, which he thought were too large) and other amusing details (oh those Sixties).
I love Wilfrid Brambell in this. What a weird idea that was - 'I know, let's have Wilfrid Brambell do a movie with The Beatles!' - but it works. Steptoemania and Beatlemania together!
