I can't tell you how much I've loved Cilla 10 Years, 8 Months ago
but I've had to write to her to ask how much the relationship between her and Bobby was true to life - I knew them both in the Sixties and need to know (personal though, so I won't be passing it on).

Apparently she has confirmed that the bit where she stopped Bobby having a recording contract is true.

I fully intend to book in a meal with the lady to get to the truth of everything! But I loved the three parter and Sheridan was magnificent. She'll be sitting next to Toby Jones at the BAFTA awards.

Entertaining, yes ... but don't feel we have learned anything new at all.
It will, though, be a big surprise (no pun intended !) for younger people to discover that Cilla was ever a singer at all (as they only know her as a TV presenter).

I have to agree, a fantastic series, and a shame it over. It was TV viewing that made you feel good. Sheridan was superb. You ought to try to catch her "Who Do You Think You Are" journey. (I think it's still on BBC I-Player). Also, I can't believe one of the major labels hasn't signed her up for an album for the Christmas market- Doing Cilla and over 60s covers! (Actually, perhaps I'm not surprised!)

I'm no longer in the current recording industry. Can't afford it, don't know how to break hits and quite possibly, at nearly 70, can no longer make hits either.

That's sad to hear. Does that mean that if I followed the advice on the gold flexidisc included with Hit Millionaire, I would no longer become a pop superstar?
