BBC God Only Knows about music and TV 10 Years, 8 Months ago
The new video/single for Children In Need (there are a few of those in Africa at the moment, dying of Ebola - send every penny out there) is a great example of the decline of both the BBC and the music industry. They can't come up with a new idea so they use an old one (Perfect Day which was brilliant). They can't think of a great obscure song so they do bloody God Only Knows we've all heard this a million times.
They polish it up with fantastic special effects and colour and gloss - all technique and no soul.
Where Perfect Day was a superb musical treatment of a brilliant obscure song, GOK is WAN ghastly example of media today; unimaginative, unoriginal, unmusical but very polished.

I love that song, one of my all-time favourites, but why did they mess with it? It's one of those songs that I have no desire to hear sung by anyone else - let alone a flash mob of celebs.

And coming up - the BBC music awards; brilliant and long overdue (as The Brits has been doing such an appalling job). But why don't ITV revive The Record of the Year Show? Massive ratings (9 million every year). Inspired Cowell to start Pop Idol and the rest.
And will the BBC Music Awards be great or standard, uninspired crap? Guess which I suspect.

No one really remembers the record of the year award, except those closely involved. The idea of the single is over. no one cares what is number one any more, because it is so random. It could be a download from 10 years ago or a new release, and you don't need many sales to reach number 1.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the song or the video. Record Of The Year did not inspire Pop Idol. Stop shoehorning yourself into every music industry success story JK. This is one reason why this site is declining. Self promotion, too much distraction by yourself and your 'problems'. You pick and choose what posts you want to allow and you're very biased and do not offer any genuine tips for breaking new records. Stop whining about everything and boasting about who you had dinner with and offer constructive ideas for once.
