Well they tried - a look back at the best year in music in ages with some splendid huge hits but the magic isn't there. Partly because Reggie and Fern have been born with charisma by-passes; partly because so have all the music stars without exception. And the script was written by a photo copier machine. Or is it just that I am now, officially, OLD?

There isn't a single song from this show that I remember, apart from Ariana Grande who was on video.

totp - the story of 1980

Last year was the 50th anniversary of Totp. The bbc should have had major celebrations on this, like they did with Dr Who, the year before. The bbc just didn't want to show any footage of Saville or Dlt for fear of receiving complaints from people who would quite happily sit and watch convicted sex offenders George Michael and Boy George. To not include Saville or Dlt would have been like the elephant in the room, that you can't mention.
