Yes, I'm well aware of that. I just find him a club singer who has lucked his way to a higher level. He has all the subtlety of a sledgehammer.
What exactly is a club singer? He has a great vocal range and a very powerful voice. Just listen to Through the barricades, such a great vocal performance.
The type of singer who sings in a club. I hope that clarifies. Usually with people eating chicken in a basket. He has a very limited range, which goes from metallic shouting to cockney wheezing.

True has over 1 million air plays in the us. It also appears on the soundtrack to numerous films. Gary Kemp wouldn't write for anyone else.
Tony also won the reality show Reborn in the USA, because he has a fantastic voice. Hes a proper singer, unlike Simon Le Bon who is constantly out of tune when playing live.
