Agreed Honey; Wil and Lucy's duet was the best thing in the show. All four finalists last solo performances were weak I thought. The only one of the last eight worth a contract was Joe.
Lucy only got through because Will and his fans didn't seem to have any knowledge of opera singers. There are hundreds of women with better voices struggling to find a company. There are probably a few better ones who are singing in Covent Garden bistros. It was a pointless decision to get her to the final because she's no recording future. Sasha had a decent voice with some potential to improve and be more distinctive. The winner seemed a nice guy but that celtic vibrato has become almost as irritating a cliche as Mariah Carey-style warbling. I think overall the show improved this year, with Rita Ora proving an inspired choice as judge. They need to keep her for next year and they desperately need to produce a hit record. Personally I don't think that ought to be as hard as it's seemed so far- Cowell churns out appalling stuff that charts. Universal needs to pull its finger out.
"Amazing", says silly Scottish Steve, "that it's the No1 download today". No, Steve, it would be amazing if it wasn't. And it will be amazing if you haven't become a distant memory, like Steve Brookstein or that fat girl, by next week.
