I don't think it sounds like 10cc, it's not nearly as good. I don't find it catchy at all, its more like a b-side, there's no hook at all in my view.

I think the shouting in the middle is supposed to be the main event these days. Maybe I am too old for music?

I think JK is suggesting the lyric, "not liking, loving" is similar, not the song itself. Loads of songs have similar lyrics so that's not a big deal IMO. If anything I would say they nicked the line from Simon Cowell.

Don't forget Dreadlock Holiday is nearly 40 years old, "I Won't Back Down" is a mere 25 years old and no matter how much of a monster it was, the kids had never heard of it, let alone the writers of Sam Smith's "Stay with Me". So with that in mind, the kids aren't going to be referencing Dreadlock Holiday.

IMO it's very catchy, the rap bounces along nicely, not too heavy, it's got a great summer vibe and the funk element (Verdine White is on it) is very in right now.

Music Supervisors love this kind of thing, especially the whistling so it's gonna be all over the TV as well.

I'm thinking a huge hit, let's see.

Spot on K - simply a joke about a lyric line. I don't dislike it but it doesn't strike me as huge; let's wait and see. Quite a lot of these type of tracks get me hooked after a dozen or so radio plays. By which time they've been enormous - long before I spot them!

I think its enough like it for you to be singing Dreadlock holiday in your head instead, which probably isn't a good thing. (good for 10cc perhaps? )

Song's nowt like "Dreadlock Holiday" but I like those women at 1:06.

I'm not sure this enhances the reputation of Earth Wind & Fire's Verdine White - it's certainly not on the level of Boogie Wonderland or September.
