TOPIC: Eurovision winner dies

Eurovision winner dies 10 Years ago
On the chart, Heroes entered at 11 after the win and this week slumps to 51. Not a real hit.

They all do !

I've no idea who "won" this year - and doubt many other do either.

Wrong ITK: some survive (like Love Shine A Light and Waterloo).

Agreed Lulu is still going strong 45 years later, Bucks Fizz went on to have 3 number 1s, and Brotherhood of man had several more top 10 hits and "Save your kisses" sold over 1 million.

The Eurovision winner always used to go to No. 1, up to and including Nicole in 1982 with a little peace.

... and hasn't had a hit for FOUR decades (apart from latching onto Take That)

Managed a whole two weeks in the top 40. It dropped to the lower 30s in its second week. The Belgian and Russian entries charted very low.

Yes ITK, part of the problem when countries (like the UK) allow TV people to choose the entries, not music people. But Loreen's Euphoria was a big global hit three years ago (I won £700 on it).

Radio 2 seems to be playing Heroes a lot which implies that radio (certainly 2) has no impact on sales anymore.

I thought this was a belated thread about Udo Jurgens.
