Think back to previous success like this and it was in a time when the music industry dominated media, TV in particular. A huge part of 1D's success is from social media like Twitter and it's fans spreading the word themselves, not the industry creating it's own buzz and hype. This is also new.

But not REAL hits K; that everyone globally sings (Who Let The Dogs Out?) whether grandmothers or babies (I Get Knocked Down) and is sung by millions - Doris Day, Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, Bette Midler, Marlene Dietrich... REAL hits.

Funny you should say that Hedda. They WERE all very pretty when Simon put them together - as I predicted on here (wrongly) they would win that year and (rightly) they would sell more records than any other winners. I thought at the time Zayne was the cutest and he clearly did NOT want to be in the band (and now isn't). But I agree about Justin - first picked on here when he was too young to be looked at. But definitely classically cute if a bit sexless.
