I rather fear they may have slipped up on timing but they sound OK.
I don't hear the hits they had before but this is adequate soft rock/pop, good vocal, pleasant album track.
My problem with it is it hasn't got the crisp, American quality sound the earlier stuff had.
See what you think. Will there be a Vacancy in the scene in 2007 for go:audio?

I love em. My only thing against it I can say is how many bands in this genre can fit into the scene?
I have one upstairs rehersing at this very second that don`t sound a lot different.
Thumbs up here though, great voice.
2007? Maybe . 2008 I would say, should the band stay together, I reckon that`s where the vacancy in the market will be again.

How many more "go" bands?

Go Audio
Go Team
OK Go

I think there's also a "Team Go" or "Go Team Go". All very confusing... like when all American bands had a number in them!

This is the 1st I've heard about this band. I can't say I'd heard of them when they were 'The Vacancy'. To be honest I think the name Go Audio just gets them confused with all the other 'Go' mentioned bands.

On first listen the song on their myspace 'Made up stories' sounds good to me. The vocals are clear and crisp and the track has a real energy to it. The fact that it doesn't sound American is a real plus point for me. I may be wrong but when British bands have tried to sound all American, haven't they failed over the water. It just comes across as trying to hard in my eyes and the Americans can see straight through it.

Stick to being British, there's nothing wrong with that!

How about just "GO!"?

Quite enjoyed the track but as has been already said it's nothing new or fresh.

Having named many bands myself, I have a rule which I apply to the task.
How is this name going to sound when I ring a client?
With the case of "Go Audio", I would worry on a cold call to a gig, you will sound like a PA company trying to get work and introduce yourself.
No problem with "The Vacancy", that an obvious band name.
Can you imagine the first guy assigned to get a gig for "Kajagoogoo"?
But still, my favourite disastrous name has to go to "Call Centre". How to get your client to instantly hang up or what!

I think they had such a great sound before, and a batch of real quality hit records (which is obviously what enticed Raphael to get the cheque book out) can't see why the change in direction, sounds like a vacancy at White Rabbit waiting to happen.

I saw this photocopy paper the other day made by a company called "Yes". What a terrible name for a company, how do you think they answer the phone?

Yes?

Easy answer Kev, the same as I do, "Yes, can I help you?".

Actually, 3rd listen, and it is now excellent in my book.
A hit.
