Gambo was (and remains) furious after they dropped him after 19 years when he was falsely accused. I gather there was much discussion about my inclusion; the decision was that they couldn't deny me (thrice?) so they would stop listing the recipients year by year and replace it with this more general paragraph. Online their previous recipients do include Obie etc but just don't appear to include me. Considering that, before my year, lack of support meant they were going to scrap the event but the huge income and success of my 1997 event saved it, I hope they can (as one of my associate acts almost sang) Hold Their Heads Up.
