I'm not musical,but there are some on here who have done it all....

...my question would be,for those like Mr King who are talented enough...is it easier to write a smash hit,than adapt an existing song?

Believed to be by far the best cover...better than the Devo version mentioned by the BBC

Thank you Patt; yes I deliberately avoided watching as I suspected my version would be missed out. I think the two talents - interpreting the songs of others and the ability to create originals - are equal and often sides of the same coin. I was never a great singer vocally but had imagination and production and arranging skill, so my performance of other people's work was often interesting (Hooked on a Feeling) and added something to a song but my own composing skills were strong too - especially lyrically.
