TOPIC: Gladys Knight

Gladys Knight 9 Years, 4 Months ago
One of my all time favourite singers - I helped Midnight Train become a UK hit for no payment; indeed it cost me a fortune, because I loved it - was just on Pointless. Reminded me - You're The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me (Jimmy Webb) is, I think, one of the best pop lyrics ever written.

Both of those songs are great, Gladys is one of my all-time favourites too. She also did an excellent duet with Kenny Rogers called If I Knew Then What I Know Now in the 1980s.

I'm watching Pointless. Solo number 1s of the 70s. I'm going for Terry Jacks.

Are you sure it wasn't The Poppy Family?

Terry Jacks was number 1 with Seasons In The Sun in March 1974. Though it wasn't mentioned, so probably wasn't pointless. Poppy Family only got to No. 7 with Which Way You Goin' Billy (on Decca in August 1970).

I need to leave work early and get home to watch Pointless more often. It's rather good!
