JK vs JJ - FAB Chart news. 18 Years, 4 Months ago
JK managed to hold off the heaving mass of talent only to see Jack Jones nip in and steal the limelight. Yes, it's the old crooner entering The FAB Chart at Number One this week, keeping JK in the no.2 position. Jack Jones is the only new entry. Actually I quite like The Love Boat song. It's got a snappy arrangement.

Like they say on the FAB Mag page, it made us tear up our predictions. I thought maybe JK, or PJ Golden might be at the top, or even Onionsound. But PJ tumbled to no.9, and Onionsound just climbed one place. I believe someone used the word eccentric to describe the FAB Chart, and they were right. Who could have predicted this?

Gosh, the last time I listened to Jack Jones must have been in the mid 1970s.

In the space of just over a month there has been an 11 year old kid and two guys in their sixties each reaching No.1. in the FAB Chart. Does that happen anywhere else?

I also see that the Uk online shop is now in pounds sterling instead of euros.

What?? You mean there are pills to help us cope with Jack Jones ??!!?? Gimme.

Not a bad chart this week overall.

Cat, you should write for a music mag.

FAB Chart... yes another good one. Surprised to see one new entry and pleased to see JK holding on.

Strange times: Is the Love Boat on telly again or something? Where did that one come from?

It's so refreshing to find a chart so open to various influences - my current fav Onionsound is really rather retro... is this New New Wave?

Cat your right about predictions and surprises - I wonder if we'll see the Blagg creping in, they seem to have got more response here than the norm and I hope the Futon people bother to tip their song too.

If only the "proper" chart was more like this.

PS. JK they sell baseball hats in their shop

(Strange times 2: Last night at a quite amateur gig someone's 12 year old child is heavily into the Who via the CSI show apparently - cool)

As the Fab Chart mystery people blatantly read these threads, and we keep getting some older songs in there, I would like to see some classic 70`s new wave in there as well. I want "Found Out Too Late" by 999. A pop/punk crossover that was not a hit except on the radio.
I have allways adored the simplicity of the song, and it needs re-hearing.

I looked on Amazon and found that the New Jack Swing - Jack Jones CD featuring Love Boat was released here (UK) on 15th January this year, although in the USA it was released back in 1997. Not sure what the reason for that is. Plus, he did a sell out UK tour at the end of last year, so there seems to be a renewed interest in him in.

I like it when oldies creep into various charts. It reminds us that good songs are forever.

Not sure that I see any particular evidence that the FABBERS are influenced by these pages, although it's entirely possible. Certainly there hasn't been much mention of Jack Jones on here until now, nor Onionsound.

I don't think I came across 999's "Found Out Too Late". Can it be heard anywhere on the net?
