I can do my Richard and Fred story now!

I went for a job interview as a sales rep in about 1986, and was very nervous, and they both walked into the pub where I was about to have lunch.

I had never met them in my life, and they told me all about their gym they had around the corner, and Richard bought dinner. I never spoke to them again, we exchanged tapes, I went into Carlin Music afterwards and went home.

They asked me what I thought of the new band name, and I was very polite(!), they were into Tracy Chapman at the time, the next thing I knew, "I`m 2 Sexy" went global.

It's out in June !

First time round it was No 1 in the USA for 3 weeks (No 2 for 6 weeks here) and sold 6 million copies. (The album "Up" sold 7 million globally too).

I actually thought we had the production job originally, but as they were so into their accoustic things, and we were into our sampling and drum machines, I thought it was only a vague possiblity as we seemed miles apart musically, so you can imagine how surprised I was by "Im too Sexy" appearing.
It was one of those calls that never came.

Ah, splendid!! That was a cracking single...made me laugh at the time since I was living on SOBE, surrounded by blokes who were lampooned by the song and didn't get it!

Well I`ve allways been too sexy for my kilt Big End, but when I am in your end of the country, I would not even take one!Very thick jeans rule up there, I froze! Feel free to call me a soft southern thingy!
