I got another Clifford T Ward album (3 in total; more to buy.) If you read the inlay she was an old girlfriend who commited suicide.

He discovered he had MS when he was mowing the lawn and he fell down for no apparent reason. he got up again and fell again. he told the doctor who didn't mince his words and he said you've got MS.

He only got

Next time you go on a record hunt, try and hunt down an album called "Oceans Away" by Phillip Goodhand -Tait,(yes I am biased as I know him), but it does sound like the sort of thing you like.
When we were trying to get airplay for Phillip`s new record, Ken Bruce decided to play tracks from this older one instead.
We have cd copies of it available, but you should not have to much trouble tracking down a copy in a record shop.
A new act you would like is Jinder, his stuff is available on the net.

Martin buy Julia and other stories. but on the reissue there is a song called Jigsaw Girl which you can get Gaye and other stories but this one is acoustic which I prefer.

I cried when MS struck bad on him and he wanted to make one last album. he crawled on all fours from his bedroom to his 8 track home recording studio to finish off Julia and other stories.

Singer songwriter plus is another beautiful album especially Coathanger which made me cry nearly.

He was an english teacher and drama teacher. when he discovered his song talent he sent a demo tape to the late great John Peel who loved it and gave it several studios but the one who had the ear for music was Dandelion Records.

He would rarely tour but always invited fans round for tea or something. not many celebrities would do that now, would they?

Post edited by: JK2006, at: 2006/03/09 12:26

I never braved an LP of his as he had big hair and a big beard on the sleeve, a sign, to my closed mind , that it wouldn't be my thing. I know him more as a songwriter than a recording artist, though one glance through my database, sees he had quite a prolific solo output. What's he up to now then?

We put a new cd out just before xmas Mike, and an accompanying dvd, which was filmed at Shepperton studios, in the style of a 60`s club.
Phil is doing fine, and lives just around the corner from me.

I suggest that you check Phillip Goodhand-Tait's music on his website, www.phillipgoodhand-tait.com.
He is definitely worth listening to!
