I've visited this tipsheet a few times over the past year or so but noticed that recently the exchange of views and info has lost it's flow. The board doesn't seem to get updated as often and so posts obviously pile up and lose their freshness.
I know this is a moderated board and all messages are approved before publication. Has the board lost some of it's moderators, or is it only being run by Jonathan who is now out enjoying his new freedoms and so has less time to spend on here?
I think the slowing of the Tipsheet board reflects the collapse of the music industry unfortunately. We still seem to get far more visitors than other music boards except for the fan ones and the lower grade "out of work" ones.
But yet again there are thousands more readers than posters.
I've noticed a slight slowing of the board too, but I put it down to seasonal slumps or something. I know I typed a message on here one morning and it didn't get posted online until aroud 6 hours later, but that hasn't happened often.
also, some of us are extremely busy at moment...my feet haven't touched the ground since last summer and I know that some of the other "regulars" are in the same position. Times have changed and many are simply getting on with it leaving less time to post.
Stand by for more independent operators as the industry, as we knew it, fragments. Once this finds its level I think the posting level will rise dramatically...exciting yet quiet times .
Thanks to everyone for the response. I wasn't so much referring to a lack of posts as a lack of updating. For example I could come on the board at 5pm and find the last post timed at 9.30am. I then come back at 6pm and find several new posts with the times they were written ranging from 10am to 5pm, so people have been posting throughout the day but the board not being updated for several hours. Thus, different people could post on the same subject seperately rather than there being any flowing discussion or exchange on that subject. That's why I wondered if the board had a "staff" shortage, as it seemed to be unmanned for most of some days.
I'm just clarifying my observation here. It's not a gripe or complaint. I still think this is the best of the music/entertainment forums.
