I still think Brian Harvey's song is a smash and a potential winner but it could be screwed by a bad mix and edit, or a dodgy performance.
Cindi is my strong outsider, despite the melodic nick.

As for Eurovision, more and more people tell me Switzerland is the one to beat, though I feel it is SO cynical that I'm not convinced.

The new mix is stunning, much brighter and with a good
performance he will go all the way

I'd blissfuly forgotten all about it.

It will take something special to get ahead of the political and regional voting of the main event. Finland had the right idea last year by entering something totally un-eurovision. We have an uphill task, and I'm not sure that any of our entries have what is required.

Difficult to predict the MYMU winner this year. I have had a bet on Cyndi, simply because it is my favourite, and the odds are irresistible. I do have doubts that the UK voting public will go for it.

As for the Eurovision itself, it really is wise to see how the songs are staged these days, as the visual performance is all important with televoting. I would say the three front runners are Belarus, Malta and Switzerland. Russia are yet to officially announce their song yet, and they have been threatening a victory for some time.

The Justin Hawkins song is very catchy... I think it will be between Brian, Cyndi and Hawkins.

Yes, I'm sure it will be one of those three acts, JK. If I had to stick my neck out, I'd probably go for Hawkins, though I certainly won't be risking my hard earned cash on the skinny odds of 7/4.

Which brings me to my gripe/tip. Don't bother opening up an internet betting account if your card is about to expire. You have more chance of stumbling across the secret to eternal life then changing your account details. And I've just opened five of them!

I also have had a bet on Cyndi at 12/1. The best song of the lot i'd say. Do like Brian Harvey too. Hawkins and Brown has got the 6th place draw - but it didnt help Jordan and Anthony Costa in the last 2 years.

A serious lack of ballads in ESC this year - go for Cyndi! As for winners - i cant see beyond Belarus & Malta really.

I just heard that the Danes are providing support for Palestine to join the Eurovision, but not this year.

Quite right too; if Israel are in (why? hardly Europe) why not Palestine.
Morocco has been in a couple of times.

I don't think Palestine actually exists as an official region - what was Palestine under the British mandate is now Israel with some bits being absorbed by Egypt, Syria and Jordan.

The above could be wrong.

So Palestine in the Eurovision could spark all sorts of International squabbling (Well the US and Israel)... Hmmm sounds like a splendid idea let's do it!

I just heard Cyndi and didnt like the track at all, but she does seem to be the media fave.
I do hope this has not become a foregone conclusion as I really want Brian to represent us.

It has to be Brian, seeing as I can't stand the song and think it is the worst possible Eurovision entry ever so it is bound to win!

Israel are able to enter, as did Morocco on the one occasion in 1980, because it's the Eurovision Song Contest, not the European. Full membership of the EBU is the only requirement.

I don't think Israel would object to Palestine's entry. Lebanon entered a good song two years ago, but withdrew, as they refused to guarantee that they would screen the Israeli entry.

By the way, Mika is interested in representing Lebanon in next year's contest.
