Weekend thread - Who's the best band in... 18 Years, 2 Months ago

Inspired by one of the posts about building up a huge local following with no national or international interest whatsoever...

Who's the best band in Manchester?

Liverpool?

Birmingham?

Glasgow?

And the smaller places - Milton Keynes, Ipswich, Godalming (used to be Genesis 40 years ago, I decided)...

YOUR VOTES PLEASE - the local band that really packs them out locally but no further than the next county (or in the USA/Australia - state).

Well you didnt include Bournemouth, but I guess everyone knows I am going to say Air Traffic for national interest and Fitzpain for local and no national interest. Birmingham... the Dastards. yeah well best bands in brum/Wolvo: The Priory, My Alamo, .theYESmen, The Reform.

Best bands in Pelsall: Johnny door and the knockers, Ridiculous Father, !Smash my mothers face in!

Best Bands in Whitehaven: Chips and Chips and legs, Rarararara, Soft involvement.

Looking forward to my lunch...what will i have??...hmmmm shall it be a Hot lunch or shall i purchase some lovley soft white rolls and stuff with processed chicken and skips....washed down with a can of irn bru...YES!!! and then a Lion bar to finish...WAIT..i've missed out my fruit portion....it's gotta be a banana...BANANA FRIDAY!!! COME ON!!

We are dissapointingly enough finding very little about regional bands in this thread. Wigan..(I think)...The Court Of King Charles. Yes funnily enough I've had better response to a similar thread I started for US and Aussie groups on The Velvet Rope. Perhaps there ARE no good regional bands in the UK - or possibly they are so busy packing them in, they have no time to post! There some cool things emerging in Cornwall - UnEntitled, this weeks FAB Chart No1. Down that way I think the Replicas are doing a good job too.

I'd say they're both one to watch, good encourages good. They will be playing together soon. Nice guys, deserve encouragement.
