JK First - I reckon, depending on performance, either BRIAN HARVEY (Hit song) or Cyndi (unoriginal but strong).

Is this penny bets time?

I want Brian Harvey, but I am going for Justin.

1p in the pot.

Not exactly bowled over by any of them - par for the course

Scooch sound the most Eurovision to me.

I really don't like the Cyndi track but Brian Harvey could take it because he is Brian Harvey.

If I were trying to pick a Euro winner I think Scooch would get my vote this time round.

I think Scooch is the only one that could possibly win the Eurovision Song Contest for us.

It will be interesting at 8.30 seeing how predictions are affected by the performances.

I reckon a lot hinges on the arrangement for I Can.

If it's a simple piano with gospel and Brian on top vocal form, he'll win it.
If they have retained that dreadful ticky tocky drum pattern with squeaky and intrusive noises killing the melody, it will fail.

And if Cyndi looks as attractive as I reckon she can be, she could sweep it.

Just a shame we have to put up with Fern Cotton.

Why does the show need two presenters? And why a panel
Just play us the songs and give us the phone numbers.

This first song by Liz is a nick off "Son Of A Preacher Man" and has too many yeahs.

I notied that Scooch got the biggest cheer when they all came on .. which might mean absolutely nothing, of course.

Long time since I've posted so hello everyone.

I felt compelled to see what the feeling on this board was regarding Cyndi's song.

First thing is, this song has been plagarised on a grand scale. Its basically "loch lomond" and "you raise me up" with a tiny bit of originality in the middle. I couldnt believe it when i found out the songwriters of the original songs have not been credited? (the writers credited for Cyndi's song are Henry Gorman and Paul Moessl). This song should not legally be allowed on TV, or am i just being over excited? :o)

Regardless, this song could go all the way if she can project her vocal better as I thought it was a little weak especially at the start.

Its a circus but good luck to the UK.

Al

Well, Brian had a disastrous arrangement of I Can - a master class in how to kill a hit melody - so I reckon it's between Cyndi and Justin Hawkins (the hook - title - is very strong).

Not Scooch please.

But I fear it will be Scooch. The UK public have no taste. Was watching the betting exchanges. Brian Harvey crashed down to 40/1 and there was desperate betting on Scooch. I'll go down the pub now and drown my sorrows! Another bet bites the dust!

Hear Hear JK - back to Jemini days if we send Scooch. I thought Cyndi by far the classiest voice and performance. Sincerely hope that she wins - our only chance of doing well.

Look at our record with ballads - 3rd in 2002 Jessica 2nd in 1989 Live Report 2nd in 1988 Scott Fitzgerald

We all know where the melody for Cyndi's song comes from but she has a good voice and could do a Celine.

The Hawkins title/hook is good but the screaming is annoying (the girl is good though).

Now let's see...

I`m going for Scootch now.

Justin and Hawkins, great show, weak song.

I liked the final arrangement Brians people chose, but I thought he looked rough.

As allways I`m afraid, we have better stuff out there than this.

First to go out; Brian, proving how to grasp defeat from the jaws of victory.
Second out Liz - this year's Jemini.

As predicted - Cyndi is one of the finalists.
Scooch is the other (no, please, big mistake).

So it looks like JK could be right again (Cyndi) or very wrong (I reckon Scooch could do a nul points).
