Girlfriend - Avril 18 Years, 2 Months ago
Quite a catchy Busted type track but is it just me or is there something deeply unpleasant about it?

I think the thing that struck me about it along with many other tracks yesterday, during a full twelve hour radio listening stint, was why the heck are they all mixing things to sound exactly the same?

I have found it a true inspiration to work with various people lately, some board members, some not, who think beyond the now standard radio constraints.

Steve Smiths` unconventional production of Sandi Thom, using the percussion instruments which surround him was groundbreaking, it shouldn`t have been though, he just went back to basics.

I`m getting rather bored with "perfect" music, I want humanisation back.

As this is the correct board for this, compare these two tracks.

Busted "Year 3000". Brilliant, quantized, perfect.

10 CC "The Dean And I". Brilliant, PLAYED,(note...!) and making the best of what they had to record it with. Perfect.

In these days which are, the much predicted resurgence of vinyl, it needs to be documented that it does not all need to be computer based recordings.

People are going to get fed up with it.

"Wow! That song was perfect! So was that one!And then that one! ".

I`m a human being I`m afraid, and I love the duff trumpet note on Curtis Mayfields` "Move On Up".

Everything is getting to cellophane packaged, I thought the Artics had smashed this but I was wrong.

I totally agree, Mart.

Only heard Avril's new song once. Must have another listen. Have to say, though, she looked amazing at her wedding - a lot more of a traditional event than I'd have expected. I think that, as a person, she's grown up well.

She always had an extraordinarily dishy guitarist in her band - was he the one she married?

Avril's wedding pics. 18 Years, 2 Months ago
She married Deryck Whibley of Sum 41.

I found this collection of Avril's wedding pics on Youtube. Nice selection.

Or as Charlotte Church said when interviewing her on her prog on Friday 'SUM 42'

And whilst i'm on this subject ... next series of Charlotte church not happening because of 'the pregnancy' although after seeing it for the first time last friday I'm not suprised. It was so lame and the interviews so amateur, poor Avril looked embarassed to be there and then it was rounded off with Patrick Wolf & CC doing a Prince cover version.
