Great songs 7 Years, 1 Month ago

At the risk of sounding like a boring old fart, as Sounds of the 60s on the BBC Radio 2 plays Run To Him by Bobby Vee - one of my teen favourites - I think it's another Goffin and King song... so brilliant, those Sixties and Seventies songs were truly great constructions. Simple but clever lyric ideas. Terrific tunes. Short and punchy and most of all, what is missing today, mass appeal. When I had my hits I had grand parents, small children, middle aged couples, gays, straights, young, old - all come up to me in the street, dozens a day, thanking me for the music. These days, music appears less important in people's lives.
