Did anybody watch last night's Harvey Goldsmith TV show on C4? I asssume that nobody did, as there is no comment about it on this message board. Last night looked as Saxon, and once again, Bob Geldof appeared on the show. (but his production company TenAlps make the show, anyhow).

The first two shows were not that good, but last nights was so boring, I fell asleep half way through, and missed the live "feedback" programme on E4 (or More4, whatever!).

I assume the viewing figures are a disaster. This is going to do Harvey's credibility no good whatsoever.

it was the funniest thing I've seen since Spinal Tap. Ironic considering that Saxon are the band to which said movie alludes.

I just watched a recording of this and the Sheffield Wednesday stunt had me crying with laughter. A totally dumb idea and its execution certainly brought the almighty Tap to mind.

I watched - mainly as I was involved with Saxon in their early days and wanted to see if things had changed (NO !).

I said before the series started - if you need good management advise you need a good manager - not a promoter ! As a promoter he's probably the best in the business but that does not mean he's an expert elsewhere.

Saxon looked like they should have retired to the quiet life ages ago.

The episode on the football pitch just goes to show how some stunts just don't work. Saxon looked stupid - and they were angry about it afterwards. But it could have been a triumph ... if some things had been different (e.g. if Sheffield weren't losing at half time, if a stage had been erected for the band to appear on etc. etc.).

The gathering of journos and music biz people to hear the new single just looks so contrived ... and is only possible because of Harvey's money and clout.

The programme is very funny - and sad. I can't imagine that anyone's career is enhanced by it - but it has brought Harvey into the general public's eye ..

But the ratings are appalling Stretch - under 800,000 - far and away the lowest terrestrial.
