Could anyone here help me confirm the origin of this phrase?

One source says it was a 1973 headline in the Sunday People reporting Cliff’s opinion of the New Musical Express. Another source says it was a tabloid headline relating to the Sex Pistols. I have also seen it used as the headline in a later Record Mirror article about Motörhead.

I think it is a memorable phrase hence it may have been reused!
