Good, bad or indifferent - what do you think?

I think it`s a brilliant album.
I have played it twice this week and it takes one through despair and faked sarcastic sounding jollity.

The album also comes accross to me like a stage show, bit by bit we go from the end to the beginning whilst listening.

I have to confess, bareing in mind the previous paragraph, I watched the last Quick Time( on disc 2) video, first.
I wanted to know how it all ended and it doesn`t, it ends with a question.

Right that`s my views on it.

I played it to some friends, who were impressed and the most interesting question that was asked was, "But why has he done this?"

I don`t know , I don`t care, it`s just a fine cd.

A strange CD.

It begins with Vile Pervert, a very up-front and bold song. It certainly lays it bare and gets it in first.

Then comes a jolly ditty about polishing the Sun - and this is what happen throughout the CD.

Anger followed by frivolity. It's almost surreal, the alteration between the two poles of angry and happy reinforce each other and yet make each other absurd.

This is either the sound of a man having a breakdown or it's a cathartic shout. Time will out.

It's still here on my desk.

I have to say it's a very old-fashioned record for the very best reasons. I don't think it was made to make the Artiste rich, I think it was made because the Artiste had to get a certain number of things off his chest and did it in the way he knows best: putting together a few songs. In that respect, it has an almost punky vibe - get up and do it - that's reflected in the artwork. It's not clever and it's not pretty: it's angry, funny and impulsive. Kinda rare commodities these days.

I think I'll go and listen to it again now.

I must add what a friend of mine said about it yesterday, when I played it to him, which made me smile.

"My god, did he just say what I thought he did!"

A headline review in itself.
