Arrived in Helsinki on Monday for Europe's annual Camp Fest. Imagine my joy to leave the global warming of the UK to be greeted by an icy blast direct from the North Pole. At least it was bright and sunny for the first two days. Much rain and even a little snow since.
Rehearsals kicked off yesterday. It's a long event these days, with 42 songs to wade through. Just as well I'm mad enough to love the thing.
Anyone looking for tips should be pointed to Serbia so far. Classy powerful Balkan ballad tastefully presented. Just a shame the singer has looks which only her mother could love. Remains to be seen if the good people of Europe will take this into account when casting their votes.
Talking of which, I must dash for their press conference. Something interesting might happen at one of those one day. I'm still waiting after 12 years!

However, the fact that the facilitator of the Serbian Press conference concluded the proceedings by saying "Thank you, Croatia" was mildly interesting.
Not best pleased would be an underestimation of the Serbs' reaction to that, judging by the gasps and horrified expressions
