and a rise to follow Eurovision - WMG spending big? Or genuine support?

A London friend tells me that Scooch performed six songs at G-A-Y last week to rapturous applause. Not sure what that proves, although it does show that they have been making appearances. But, maybe it's just because it's Euro week that people have decided to give them a boost.

I still like the Belarus entry, but I think that Scooch could make the top ten.

They have had a few gay venues- The Nightingale in Brum and Cruz in Manchester for example - but not really that many gigs.

No 15 is hardly inspiring, is it?

They performed at a big Eurovision party at the Euroclub in Helsinki last night. 15 Eurovision acts sang in total. Most performed a set but they just sang their song and left the stage. They are an adequate live group, I'd say, no more than that.

Nothing I have seen has changed my opinion that UK is guaranteed a bottom five placing.

The first dress rehearsal for the semi finals have just finished. There were some very effective performances. Belarus is ultra slick, and Slovenia was the surprise hit with the audience.

It shows how excited the Finns are to be hosting this event. The arena was almost full for a rehearsal of a semi final at 2pm on Wednesday. Is it Wednesday? I've totally lost track by now!
