Any recommendations for a digital aggregator? 18 Years ago
I'm thinking about AWAL and Tunecore, but understand that Tunecore don't really provide any metadata, making the tracking of royalties (such as PRS) tricky. I've also looked at Ditto Music...one thing I don't quite understand is their charge in order to make your track/tracks chart eligible...surely all iTunes et al downloads are chart eligible these days?

Any advice would be great!

Big End went with AWAL, I went with Tunecore.

This will be the perfect place to contrast and compare this summer.

I think choosing the right aggregator is a difficult one...AWAL seem pretty straight down the line to me.

There's also Finetunes (I think it's .org). I've had good conversations with them, but am not yet a client.

Just one look at the list of "labels" that they are handling gives an indication of why it's now near impossible to ever chart with a new release !

In the 60's there were around 50/60 new releases a week - now there are millions !

Once again a case for a new co-op MM.

It was down to a great record and effective promotion then and now.

Just in case... I wasn't endorsing them but putting up the .net - Michael mentioned it was possibly .org so I put up the .net as it is an odd .whateverthingy

ah, splendid Zooloo, you are testing my Spanish. Consiga la langasta del congelador in English is, of course, "take a lobster out of the freezer". Or is it fridge? Or is it, "select a crustacean from the chilled cupboard"?

The I-Mac has translated it to "the lobster in the freezer obtains".

It is Babelfish's version of "Get the lobster out of the freezer".

It's all Mart's fault - I mean literally everything is Mart's fault including the destruction of the environment - he could have cooked his Tesco leaflet!

ah, yes but it is all to do with the imperative in a syntactical sense.

"Nehmen sie einen Hummer aus den Kuhlschrank."

Turn it all up to 11, and don`t forget "Let It Be" is the encore!

Re:Any recommendations for a digital aggregator? 18 Years ago
big I.T probs at the minute blagging internet time in friends houses, not got time to read all the posts but we're signed up to ditto.com and it's going great, been front paged on the favorites for a week now [you knew that anyway] and the next single Well Duh! due out next week will be featured in the wippit weekly subscribers mail out alongside promo for the album due out the week after.

Well done Rods, good luck with it all.

All you people new to uploading will love this story.

Apparently if I buy any product from my aggragators affiliated guitar shop this weekend, I get 5 free uploads!!

The whole situation is completely surreal, but I have been saving up for a new plectrum for some weeks now.

Seriously though, it was not the cleverest of moves to bulk send that e-mail to their clients, it devalues the works and delivers a little pat on the head that a vanity publisher would deliver.

Finetunes is/was German, so this thread is concept pure from start to finish.
