It`s not a bad one over breakfast in the sunshine.
Not that keen personally though.
"Love City Groove" is THE summer brekkie song for me still.
(Did I hear a Tina Charles, "I Love to Love" sample in there as well?)

That all said, it`s still in my head ten minutes after listening.

Pretty catchy but have they missed the boat by about 5 years?

Very nice. There are two forms of 90s dance music that i will always love forever.

1. Anything that has disco and filters in it.
2. UK Garage (vocal oriented ones).

This song takes me back to 1999 with Gym and Tonic, Phats and Smalls and the Armand Van Helden ones 'Flowers' and 'You dont know me'. This is excellent and Kev it's right up your street. Looking forward to your own version.

No the samples are three obscure ones.

Isn't it fun though?

I like it more every time I hear it.

Majors are clamouring to licence it. Im busy telling them DON'T!!!

Look what the majors did to Orson. From a huge smash they gave them one hit wonder status. Shame on you, Jason and Lucian!

Well yeah, I have to admit to enjoying it but I would be concerned that it's too much along the lines of what you're listing here and maybe people will turn their noses up because it's old hat. What was the other Jackson one, Skanty Sandwich or something like that, too similar perhaps?

I still think this one:

www.kingofhits.co.uk/component/option,co...ew/id,19146/catid,5/

Again, same kind of thing, in fact probably not so much done with the remix, but digging out an absolute corker, what a vocal and a melody. This time though it's not The Jacksons or in that style so it sets it apart.

We shall see, my moneys on this one with the right exposure... even though nobody else seemed to go for it judging by the amount of replies!

Yes I liked the Frankie Valli but I loved the original so much that I kept singing that!

Love the 4 seasons et al, love the mix, it`s just not my fave song of theirs.

This thread had sent me scratching through my record library until I found "The Night".
Total cracker.

Sounds like a mess to me - can't they sort out the timing of the samples? It's not that difficult. It's all a bit 7 years too late for me.

Definitely split opinions - raves from me (and from mini me - Sunny Jack - on the ROTD board) and others; disinterest from 50% here and on the ROTD board.

The Velvet Rope seems more negative than positive.

Keep your feelings coming in; I still reckon this could be the CRAZY of the year.

Actually I thought that with a few percussive bits but then later on in the track it sounded OK, so thought it was me... obviously not!

CRAZY it is NOT! Good God JK!, what are you thinking?!

"Crazy" my arse. This is hackneyed crap that sounds lazy and dated.

"Crazy" is one of those rare records that appeals to everyone across the board, straddling many genres. But most of all...it's got a fantastic melody. How the hell can you compare this shite to "Crazy"?

I think this song probably is telling us a lot about what a hit record constitutes.

Instant reaction both positive and negative spells success as it warrants an immediate reaction and half the population love it and the other half hate it.

Interestingly enough i think a one off licence to a could be a good thing here. Just get an advance of over a million for it. Could they get a worldwide smash out of it without a major ? if so then i think how they do it may be a precedent.

I disagree completely. I haven't anything some half-arsed and sloppy in all my life within this genre - I seriously would have to worry about the ears of anyone signing this. Its ineptitude is astounding. If you can't hear all the timing discrepancies, God help you.

Funny how the extremes kick in - I love it; it makes me smile and tap my elderly feet!

I think the whole concept is great fun and I like it for that. But that is as far as I'd go. Classic example of a great idea poorly excecuted...a shame.

Right and while all the music purists quibble over the timing differences and the ineptitude of the production and other minor folbiles the public will lap it up and many people who are not producers, who think they can do better (maybe the can) don't give a toss about this. Face it it's a top tune give it some credit man !
As for it sounding dated, you are having a laugh aren't you. like tell me what current music today isn't dated. Certainly not your darling Beatles and Oasis wannabe bands. Grrr !

New can of worms there KZ.

I LOVE human inperfection in music.

Human/computer operated imperfection in music?

Now thats a new one!

No offence intended, but it`s a thought I hope.
