Anyone see the Scott Walker programme last night? 18 Years ago
I caught most of it and was amused by the total lack of mention for his best friend in the 60's - me.

There were some completely inaccurate details I could have set right in seconds.

But did Yentob bother to ask? No way, of course!

Scott was as creative and vulnerable as ever though I have to say I can't understand most of his recent music - much more Brian Eno than JK.

Dear old Yentob. How he hated me when I revived Eurovision and made it impossible to cancel. Dear old Yentob. How he hated the fact that I kept pointing out that Janet Street Porter never got any critical or ratings success when she was running YOOF TV for him.

No wonder he felt comfortable erasing a vile pervert from his story. Censorship is a wonderful thing when you're a part of Big Brother.

I shall keep the comment brief.

Yes it was holed.

But there is one heckuva album in that bloke still to come, once he gets the Eno/Phillip Glass stuff out of his system.

I saw it. I concur with Mart, Walker badly needs to stop dicking around punching pork and singing into dustbins, and get his pipes around some tunes. He's still one of the finest singers in the world. Scott 1/2/3/4, Nite Flights and Climate Of Hunter all bear this out.

I keep the faith and get my hands on everything he puts his name to, but Tilt and The Drift are somewhat lost on me.
