The last time I asked about a track was when I was in Morocco and couldn't understand the Arabic back announcement - it turned out to be a track off Simon Webbe's last album.
Now I hear another track on Wogan this morning (this time recognising his voice) and it is brilliant too... called Grace.
Whoever is A&Ring him is excellent; he sings beautifully; great arrangements; he's far better than Lemar - why isn't he bigger?
Hi JK
I work with Simon, I have to say he is one of the nicest and hardest working guys
I have has the pleasure of working alongside. His manager Danny D has great ears and I believe Jamie Nelson & Phil Christie are the guys on the label front.
I wouldn't go as far to saying that Grace is brilliant. I'd use the word pleasant which I believe is more fitting.
I did however catch his new single for the new fantastic 4 movie and was surprised. I think it's a good song but I'd prefer to see a different artist singing it. His voice just grates on me. And the video; how ridiculous does the cane look.
I disagree, i think the video is a good change for Simon. It shows his versatility. I also work with Simon and put a lot of his success down to his hard work and strategic thinking from those around him.
Good luck to him, hopefully this album will reach the heights of the last..
I love Simon Webbe's voice. Said so before and will again. Maybe he's one of those acts that "slow burns" and then takes off when the public finally "get him". He's good and he will shine through.
I like the Lighthouse Family texture of his voice.
I also like his ad libs. He seems to have natural interpretive talent.
Will find out more when Goldsmith, Conroy and I chew the fat (and gourmet cuisine) in a couple of weeks.
Can't believe I'm hearing this about such a bland pedestrian song. And as for the Lighthouse Family comment...if ever there was a means of rendering a vocal performance passionless...
I haven't heard it yet but great news for Simon and also Lemar. Good to see some positive 'black' male singers doing well. Goes to show that the talent is there and if everyone was to work hard and a&r them properly they will have the success. One other thing is that they are authentically British in sound.
