koopa's new single has gone in to the official midweek charts at #12 and #6 in the download chart

This is absolutely STUNNING and surely the industry finally has to take the "new media and way of marketing" as a real rival.

I am sure there will be more to follow as Tesco and the big retailers give up on the Single.

The market is now open to bands WITH FANS and great music - no longer will multinationals be able to stranglehold the sales....

Be good to see Radio 1 and the commercial stations start to reflect what is being listened to rather than the marketing spend.

I agree with the you but it may take a while for the dinosaur to catch on. Meantime we'll have to listen to all the usual mundane American music they keep inflicting on us.

Bring on the airplay quotas like the French have.

Last time it was a good effort but unfortunately the song was somewhat mediocre and, deservedly, dropped like a stone.

Good to see the principle in practice but shame about the song.

Koopa are a band that kids love. Their song is punkish ( and all three of their singles have had this sort of appeal ) so I can understand some tastes are not going to be tickled by them.

Can you imagine how much they would sell with a "crossover" track based on that opinion !

Certainly most tracks these days without airplay drop like a stone - how can anyone hear the song if Radio 1 and commercial radio ignore them.

I was told at their showcase last week that in Japan they have sold 12,000 albums on an indie label without any touring or even being involved. That is the sign of a band that should be able to cut it anywhere.
