FAB Chart - it caught me out. 17 Years, 11 Months ago
I was listening to Rob Harding singing 'The Good Old Summertime' while sitting looking out the window at the torrential rain and thunder storm. Rather an amusing moment really.

But onto the new FAB Chart.

I did not predict this Number One. I do like it though.
I was sure it would be Sir Paul ...

New at 20 is John Myers with a song which could really grow on me.

New at 19 is a Malaysian guy called Raggy, with a slice of Latino sentimentalism. I like this one too.

New at 15 is Fig with some melodic rock. A bit retro, but very agreeable.

Highest climber is The Still with 'What Is It Worth'. There is more to this song with each listen.

Both Rob and Mart hang in the top 5, but Zooloo will be happy that the Motors drop out of the Top 10.

I just played through the whole chart. Wonderful way to spend part of Saturday morning.

I was dead chuffed to see John Myers in there as he is a good mate of mine.(great violinist and re-mixer as well, we exchanged e-mails this morning and he said it had made his weekend)
)
Interesting how the Wilburys track is timeless, as is actually most of this weeks chart.

This seems to be the key to it in fact.

I like Saturday mornings,Guardian weekend mag,all the food programmes on BBC1 and the new Fab Chart!

Who compiles this chart?

Had a listen, I liked Fig and John Myers in particular.

The compiler is like the whereabouts of baby pigeons... a mystery to us mortals.

I see the FAB Chart got a mention on BBC Ceefax "have your say" pages. I wonder how many people will now write in to ask what it is.

Page 518 of BBC Ceefax ... so no link as such, cos it's not a net thing. The page updates daily at 4pm.

Sorry Mart .. the BBC updated their page faster than the Tipsheet so the reference to the FAB Chart has gone now.

Oh well.
