Most certainly not. I loathed them first time round, but I imagine Geri Halliwell will need the exposure and money (its been very quiet thankfully on the Geri front of late) though "Posh" most certainly doesn't.

Who knows and who cares? His bank balance will increase no matter how much he's involved since it so happens the tour neatly co-incides with a new "greatest hits" package which will no doubt feature the usual stunt of one or two brand new tracks.

Wadders? You got me there!

So, they're touring round Christmas. You know what its gonna be don't you? A godawful Christmas since of course whoever wins the next X Factor series will be clogging up sales as well with some banal tripe.

It goes without saying I'm not a happy man!

I thought the first single and video were very good.

They certainly milked it longer than most people could.

By God do I hate it!

Has the old audience grown up enough to think it's amusing retro or is it just dated?

I was never a fan of theirs, but I was never a fan of Take That either and they made a successful comeback, so it might work for Posh & Co.

Can't say I'll be indulging though.

I was called by a journo friend for a comment this morning about the reformation.

I couldn`t think of one then or now I`m afraid.

I think this a thing called "indifference", it happens occasionally and very often too, with a small shelled reptile , which used to be common, called a "turtle".

Historians may remember that owners of the pet would often paint on their little backs for identification, sometimes they would often even be festooned with a Union Jack flag, they looked very attractive indeed for their humble beginnings.

Hmmmm..but the painted old and spicey little creatures get slower when they are older as well.

But , you knew what you`d, what you really really had.

Zig a zig ouch innit?

Having just watched the breakfast news and the press conderence.
There are a few obvious problems.
The first one to address is they do not look like a unit anymore.
Take That reformed with an obvious dignified united front, the Old Spice Girls stood like they had been caught by a snapper at a Friends Re-United do.
The lovely Geri(I actually mean that), looked like the manager in the middle and looked like she could have benefited by doing a few phone calls and asking "what are we going to wear team?"

Yes, brilliant PR, yes , well timed and a top news story, but they simply do not have the aura that surrounds on stage entertainers currently as a unit.

Mrs Beckham sings! the album, nah, just wave darlin`, we are all fine with that.
Scary had a look on her face that seemed to say "I can`t believe I`m doing this again..."

There was a blode one there as well smiling.

Hi All,

I can't really see it working. Its too soon for nostalgia, and would nostalgia really work for what they were, anyway.

They were a phenomenon thanks to Virgin special projects, and I give Virgin back then, a lot of credit for pulling the staggering numbers out of this act.

But really does anyone think the "New Kids on the Block" for instance, could have a succesful comeback before they play to the geriatric set in melody tents?

I have lunch with the mastermind of the project first time round - Paul Conroy.
It will be interesting to hear his thoughts.

Now that would be an interesting lunch JK!

I would love to hear what he has to say about the current state of things.

and looking back....Nancy Berry, Cooper and Newton over here.

Virgin saw the world as one, long before it was a buzzword.......and it worked, both for the Spices and Janet Jackson.

A lot can be learned by looking at the way they ran "Special projects" then, even for todays climate.
