Amazing that you're in there with Monkeys, Manics and Winehouse!

Thank you Doncaster - paid for from the rather large iTunes royalty cheque that arrived this month.

They see them on You Tube, buy them on iTunes and we pay for an ad in a national paper to spread the word!

Would you be prepared to divulge the % breakdown of the 79p you get as the rights owner, performer and songwriter and the period of your royalty cheque covered

Without going into detail it was a decent 4 figure sum for earlier this year and predominantly featured new titles of which I am writer, performer, producer and rights owner Walter.

Huge spread for Earth to King being on the Mercury long list with comments from You Tube - very eye catching, nicely self deprecating - on back page of the music and films section.

complimentary i'm afraid

Thanks for that Bumbo... bigots will air their blinkered views somewhere at all times, that's guaranteed!

Don't be surprised. I certainly am not.

I've had dozens of positive, supportive, enthusiastic e-mails... but the proof of the pudding will be in the listening.

I'll bet you 100-1 the Judges don't dare to put me on the short list.

Mind you, it could be that they listen and reckon it's crap...

I read that thread, it went off the rails rather quickly.
They seemed to be a rather small forum.

They've closed the thread down and recommend people come here to debate it...

They are frightened of you JK

Re:Brilliant Guardian ad JK 17 Years, 11 Months ago
If they can't censor you they run screaming.
Every bigotted remark shows up the board so they close the topic.
Fascinating.
Check out the other link someone put up in Your Views.
More and more intelligent people are beginning to feel something stinks.

So JK considering that you are most likely not to receive airplay are you saying that you are getting many buyers from Youtube ? Or where else are people finding about your music ?

No airplay of course DJ (why would anyone these days play a track because they liked it?) as expected.

Lots of online views from You Tube, Live Video, Google, Yahoo and our own Deep Throat but the actual sales (essentially iTunes though some through wedontdoalbums.com) are minimal compared to the old CD days.

Enough to put petrol in the Rolls and also to buy the odd Guardian advert.

Main income seems to be SYNC rights (Let It All Hang out etc) and back catalogue physical sales (compilations).

But as the word spreads on the new stuff (especially the Mercury Music Prize listing), the sales are creeping up - about one sale for every 100 views!
