Guess you mean the concert yesterday. I wasn't one of the two billion, so I've no idea how it went.

I would have written more but I sadly wasn`t inspired to.
I don`t want to go into the "global footprint" issue in putting the concert on which seems to be already a cliched bugbare, what I will say though, is I thought Madonna was absolutely superb and I`m not a fan at all, the guitar posing was very entertaining in particular.
The Beeb o/b crew etc, seemed to have ironed out any hitches they had learned from broadcasting from Wembley last week.
It was good.

Didn't watch it.

The absurdity of the whole notion interferes with my enjoyment.

Band Aid and Live Aid you either loved or hated. It was original and a statement if, in my opinion (I hated them) misguided and dangerous.

Millions died as a direct result - though a few corrupt customs officials and faded pop stars did very well from it. Donations to established, well run charities dried up. It was the start of designer charities - see my Geldof Principle lyric.

Then we had it again (boring) and then we had a million others and now this one and frankly I, and most others, had better things to do.

It totally escaped my attention.
Turned over the pages of piccies.
Watched other things on TV.
Got into Wimbledon.
Enjoyed the sunshine.
Lived a life.

So I missed the entire thing.

I spent most of the day working on a video, so I missed this concert also. It does seem an odd way to encourage saving energy, but I'm sure their intentions were good.

Well according to BBC News, Live Earth's viewing figures failed to get anywhere near those of the Diana concert - it got just less than a third of viewers which puts this pointless event into a different perspective entirely and perhaps goes to prove that the British are more sceptical about the "message" it hypocritically tried to convey.

I didn't bother with Live Earth nor Diana. Don't agree with such shows and the only REAL benefit from them will be the increase in product sales this week for the acts that participated.

I watched! 'Twas so much better than the tripe served up by the Princes last week...

I thought Metallica were absolutely amazing and I couldn't believe the BBC's decision to cut them short and switch to Crowded Effing House (more like Crowded Stage) performing Weather With You. What a load of shite.

But overall, it looked great on my 50inch plasma (which, BTW, is one of the best investments I've made for years).

Adios,
Pete

I watched and enjoyed most of it, was slightly annoyed at the Beeb's tendancy to cut away whilst halfway through a set to show you a pre-recorded piece from another show? Did we need to cut away from the Beastie Boys to watch Rhianna doing SOS?

Madonna was amazing though the preaching by Terance Stamp beforehand was boring.

I did find the honesty of Jonathon Ross's guests quite refreshing.
He asked Ricky Gervais if he though this concert would make a difference...
he replied - What, like Live Aid stopped hunger in Africa and Live 8 wiped out global debt?

Two billion viewers seems an outrageous claim for them to make. Were almost a third of the world's population watching? I hardly think so.

The American viewing figures are absolutely pathetic too...

2 Billion is a farcical and fanciful figure!
